March 5, 1941 – May 15, 2021
Jo Anne was born in Rawlins, Wyoming to Joseph & Mary Falbo. Jo Anne often commented on how much she and her family moved around during her childhood. Within the first 5 years of Jo Anne’s life the family would live in no less than 4 homes. They moved around Wyoming, South Dakota and even to New York. Jo Anne and her mom lived in New York at her grandparent’s home, while waiting for her father to return from overseas. Her time with her grandparents truly was a highlight of Jo Anne’s childhood.
When Jo Anne was twelve years old the family moved to the Zuni Reservation near Gallup, New Mexico. While there she would have more than one home. Part of her education took her to Santa Fe where she would live in boarding school. This was necessary since the reservation’s school system only went to a certain age. The next big move took the family to Douglas, Arizona where Jo Anne finished her remaining three years of high school.
After high school Jo Anne enrolled in nursing school in Tucson, Arizona. During this time, she met the love of her life, Dallas R Jones, while he was attending the University of Arizona. They would meet on a fateful hayride where she would uncharacteristically shove hay down the back of Dallas’ shirt. This would be the event that would lead to their marriage. Jo Anne and Dallas were married in Douglas, Arizona on June 5, 1961. This was the beginning of almost 50 years of marriage. Unfortunately, Dallas passed way just short of their 50th anniversary.
Jo Anne enjoyed many careers including: nursing at a small hospital, bookkeeper for an Optometrist, assistant at a photography studio, doll making as well as restoration of antique dolls, and glass making. Glass making would be the highlight of Jo Anne’s careers. Some hobbies Jo Anne enjoyed included photography and ceramics. She also enjoyed travelling with Dallas and seeing parts of the world.
Jo Anne is survived by her three children, Dallas D Jones, Beverly Hudson and Amy Harris; her brother-in-law George Wiggins, as well as six biological grandchildren, four step grandchildren by the love of Dallas D Jones, and two great grandchildren.
