John S. Takahata was born in 1961 to Ronald and Elaine Takahata in Hilo, Hawaii. John was the youngest of 4 children. His siblings are Terence Takahata, Marcia Shimokawa and Joan Ito. John is survived by his family.
John grew up in Hilo and graduated from Hilo High School in 1979. He traveled to Portland and attended University of Portland. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in
Management and Accounting in 1983.
After graduation, John began to build his life in Portland. He met his wife May at his first job after college. They were married in 1993. Their son, Titan, was born in 2000.
John began his career as a Programmer, had advanced to management and finished his career as a Business Systems Analyst. John had a very successful career.
John loved golfing, hiking, cross skiing, and the great outdoors. His passion was cooking and enjoying a glass of cognac with a good cigar.
John will be dearly missed by his families and friends.
