Following discharge from the Navy, Joe worked as an acute care ICU nurse in California.
Joe spotted Reena at a grad night party in 1993, where he was instantly drawn to her, and knew right away, that she was “his kinda girl.” They were married two weeks following Reena’s college graduation in 1997. They married in California, purchased a home, adopted Spice and Rajah and had their daughter, Jasmine. The family moved to Oregon in 2000 and were blessed with their son, Jacob. Joe left nursing and joined the automotive industry upon moving to Oregon and established online sales for the Tonkin Auto Group. He most recently worked as their Director of Finance. Joe was a man of faith and grew up attending St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. Later in life, he and his family were active members of Good Shepherd Community Church.
