He was born on September 23, 2001, in Salt Lake City, Utah. From birth, Joshua was lovingly adopted by Timothy and Karen Turner. He was also part of a biological sibling group of seven children.
Joshua spent his early years in Herriman, Utah, where he loved outdoor adventures with his family. Whether it was boating, tubing, fishing, skiing, riding ATVs, hiking, camping, or exploring national parks, Joshua embraced life with energy and enthusiasm.
At the age of eight, his family relocated to Forest Grove, Oregon. Not long after the move Joshua's life was forever changed, when he tragically lost his mother in an automobile accident, in which he also sustained severe injuries. Despite these hardships, Joshua showed resilience and strength as he recovered.
Joshua’s family grew in 2011 as he gained 6 step-siblings. During this time, he discovered his “goofball” personality and fun-loving nature. Some of Joshua’s favorite family moments included spending time at the property “Kenaren,” dedicated to the memory of his mother, Karen. Joshua’s family grew again in 2019 as he gained another 4 step-siblings during his transition to a young adult. Joshua thrived having a larger family on which he could build memories and provide an environment of laughter.
Joshua's love for sports flourished in his youth. He enjoyed playing soccer and baseball during middle school and earned a varsity letter in lacrosse during high school. He graduated from Forest Grove High School in 2020, navigating the challenges of completing his senior year amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.
After high school, Joshua joined the workforce, where he explored new passions. At the time of his passing, he was working for a local business with his sights on becoming a short-haul truck driver and was set to begin his CDL trade studies in mid-August. His ultimate dream was to own and operate a small shipping company.
Joshua is preceded in death by his adoptive mother, Karen, and his sister Emily. He is survived by his father, Timothy, and stepmother, Meredith, his six biological siblings, four adoptive siblings, and eleven step-siblings.
A funeral service will be held in Joshua's honor on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints Chapel, located at 3661 Brooke St, Forest Grove, Oregon, followed by a graveside dedication.
