

Keith Wayne Jons, a loving husband, devoted father, Korean War veteran, and dedicated union officer, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, in Gresham, Oregon, at the age of 94. Born on February 14, 1931, in Englewood, Colorado, Keith lived a full life marked by patriotism, hard work, humor, and an unwavering commitment to his family.
Keith spent his early childhood in Ashby, Nebraska, until the age of 13 when his parents, Hans and Martha Christensen Jons, moved the family to Kennewick, Washington.
Before starting his family, Keith proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On another significant Valentine's Day, February 14, 1953, Keith married the love of his life, Marjorie Cochran. They shared a remarkable 72 years of marriage and raised three children.
Keith and Marjorie relocated to the Portland area in 1961, then lived in Clackamas and finally settling in Damascus. Keith began his career as a skilled meat cutter and later dedicated his professional life to advocating for his fellow workers, retiring as a respected union officer for UFCW 555.
Beyond his career, Keith was a man of simple pleasures. He took immense pride in growing beautiful flowers, maintaining pristine lawns, and working on cars. Above all, he cherished his family. He was immensely proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, finding his greatest joy in their accomplishments and presence.
Keith will be deeply missed for his great sense of humor, his ability to tell a fantastic story, and his consistently helpful nature.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie Jons; his three children, Cheri Rice (Tom), Kristi Richards (Mike), and Keith Jons, Jr.; his grandchildren, Amanda Bayha (Matt), Nikole Graves, Kristina Rice (Spencer Whitlow), Lindsay Pratoussy (Slao Quintanilla), Stan Jons (Heidi), and Megan Kerslake (Brock); and his 12 great-grandchildren, Hayden and Brady Pratoussy; Amelia and Bennett Bayha; Ryland and Viviana Graves; Elliott Whitlow; Oliver and Hazel Jons; and Luke, Logan, and Nora Kerslake. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Marlene Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
