Born on May 28, 1936, in Galax, Virginia, Kenny's journey through life was marked by a deep commitment to his family, his country, and his community.
Kenny graduated from Heppner High School and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Portland State University. His educational pursuits laid a strong foundation for his subsequent career in banking, which spanned 35 years. It was at a bank in Pendleton where he met his future wife, Connie. The couple married in 1960 and together navigated the joys and challenges of life.
A proud veteran, Kenny served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. His military service was a period of his life that instilled in him a sense of discipline and duty, qualities that he carried into his civilian life.
Kenny’s personal life was enriched by his diverse and loving family. He is survived by his wife, Connie Easter; sons, Scott Easter, Kevin Fox (Anglo), Kilong Ung (Cambodian), Binh Luu (Chinese), and Truc Nguyen (Vietnamese). His family, a beautiful blend of cultures and backgrounds, was his greatest pride and accomplishment. Kenny was preceded in death by his daughter, Bunny Sue Easter, and his sister, Deloris Easter.
An avid reader and collector, Kenny had a particular passion for comic books, boasting a large collection, especially of vintage issues. His love for reading was matched by his love for adventure, highlighted by a memorable trip to Alaska on the Iditarod, a gift from Connie that he cherished deeply.
Kenny will be laid to rest alongside his daughter, Bunny Sue Easter. In honoring his giving spirit, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of your choice in Kenny's name, continuing his legacy of kindness and generosity.
