Ken lived a full and faithful life. He graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport in 1965, and went on to earn a degree in civil engineering from Clark College in 1972.
In 1966, Ken proudly served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Newport, Rhode Island. It was there he met the love of his life, Linda — who was also in the Navy. They were married in 1969, just before Ken was deployed to Vietnam.
After returning home, Ken went on to become a pioneer in Portland’s business community. He founded Crystal Springs Bottled Water, the city’s first bottled water company, delivering 5-gallon bottles to homes and offices throughout the 1980s. In 1997, he sold the business and retired.
Ken and Linda were longtime members of Beaverton Christian Church. They began attending in 1989, where they led family devotions and Bible studies. But Ken’s faith story began much earlier — thanks to his dear mother, who made sure he never missed Sunday School. He came to know and love the Bible at a young age and passed that passion down to his grandchildren.
In 2005, after a friend said to him, “Ken, you need to be a Gideon,” he answered the call and joined The Gideons International. He later became a leader within the Oregon and Southwest Idaho organization, faithfully helping to share God’s Word — which he read every morning. Encouraging others to stay close to the Lord was always at the center of his life.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda; his daughter, Katie Keeley; his son, Dacer Keeley, and his wife, Brittany; and his sister, Janine Clagg, and her husband, John Clagg; his brother, Ed Flagler, and his wife, Gemma; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Touchstone Flagler and Sam Flagler, as well as his brother, Sammy Flagler.
“The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”
