His family moved to Beaverton, Oregon in 1950 where he graduated from Beaverton High school in 1951. Drafted into the Navy two weeks after graduating, he served four years on the aircraft carrier, USS Randolph. When he returned he attended Multnomah college and later retired from Tektronix after 25 years as an electrical technician.
Flying was his passion which led him to become a flight instructor. He also taught ground school for ten years, and loved building and flying his radio controlled airplanes.
Ken is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth, and three children, Sharon Nordling, Carolyn (Cory) Fawcett Grants Pass, Oregon, and Paul (Rebecca) Nordling, and one remaining brother, Eugene Nordling. He had two grandchildren; Brian (Jenny) Fawcett and Keith Fawcett who live in Grants Pass, Oregon.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday January 4th at 2pm at Bethany Presbyterian Church at 15505 NW Springville Road where Ken has been a member since 1961. In lieu of flowers you may send a contribution to Bethany Presbyterian Church.
