Beloved husband and father, Larry Kenneth Hoy, passed away peacefully on 02/07/25 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife, Judith Marguerite Hoy, his son, Sidney Eugene Cook, his daughter Cynthia Louise Cook, and his son, Anthony Brian Hoy.
He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on 02/20/41. Larry was an Army Veteran who served honorably overseas in Germany. He had a love of driving, frequently going on long road trips with his family. He worked in groceries for most of his career, but was able to turn his love of driving into what he later called his favorite job, that of a Tri-Met bus driver which he did for 10 years. Larry and Judy first met on a blind date that ended with him telling her that he would someday marry her. A month later they were wed and were together for 57 years.
Larry’s celebration of life will be held at Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary, on Saturday March 22nd at 2pm. All friends and family are welcome. The family asks that donations to The Dementia Society of America be made instead of flowers or other gifts.
A memorial service for Larry will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2pm at Finley Sunset Hills Mortuary, 6801 SW SUNSET HWY, PORTLAND, OR 97225.
