Launa was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Graduated from Grover Cleveland High School.
Launa never liked to just sit, she like to stay active. She was a Hospice volunteer, helped provide meals at Marshall Center, volunteered at Luepke Community Center and Vancouver Convalescent Home.
Launa was an athlete, playing tennis, golf, softball and pickle ball. Winning a few trophies along the way for her skills on the tennis court. She was a coach for girls softball, basketball and multiple tennis teams at VTC. She loved watching tennis, golf and football.
Launa was professional baker and cake decorator. She enjoyed baking and sharing her treats with everyone. I’m sure many have a favorite dessert she made like no one else. Her éclair cakes and pie dough cinnamon rolls were some of her best.
Launa was a woman of faith with a strong belief in God, a member at Our Lady of Lourdes for over 40 years.
Whether you knew her from tennis, church, her volunteer work or were blessed to be called her friend, you know she had a giving and loving heart and soul. She touched many lives in her lifetime.
Launa will be truly missed but never forgotten. She is God’s Angel watching over all of us.
Launa was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Elaine Rygg and survived by her sisters, Donell and Trudy. Her children, Charleen and Robert, Her grandchildren, Matt, Justin, McKenzie, Brooke, Jonathan and Whitney. Her great-grandchildren, Hazel, Lila, Ezri and Sarah. All of whom she loved dearly.
Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 31st at Lincoln Memorial Park 11801 SE Mt Scott Blvd at 12:00pm in the Chapel followed by the burial at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to St Jude in her name would be appreciated.
