On October 15, 1934, LaVera exchanged wedding vows with Max A. Weaver in Gillette, Wyoming. The couple had five children, James, Max, Frank, Mary, and Eileen. They were also blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Max, Sr. preceded LaVera in death in 1997.
LaVera worked as a homemaker and spent her liesure time enjoying horses, bunco, reading, poetry and writing letters to friends and family. She loved collecting photographs of her children and grandchildren, all of which she proudly displayed throughout her house. She was a great pie and donut maker.
LaVera was a member of Saint Anne's Catholic Church of Portland.
LaVera passed away November 19, 2010 in Portland. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in Saint Anne's Catholic Church of Portland. A rosary will begin at 10:15AM. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.
The family suggests contributions to Saint Anne's Catholic Church in lieu of flowers.
