Lois Jean Richmond Lieber Song, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on February 13, 2015 at her home in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 87. She was a talented needleworker, a dedicated social worker, a student of history and a rabid Trail Blazers fan. She married twice: Dean Lieber and Vincent Song. She decided to retire the day that Mt. St. Helens erupted, when, though it was clearly visible out the window from her table, she did not look up from her work to notice it. After retiring, she traveled the world and learned Mandarin. She loved books, telling stories about ancestors and spending time with her stepsons who would find a way for her to watch Blazer's games, even in Singapore. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Ann Richmond Nolte Gardner, stepsons Yang and Xiao Bing Song and their families, nieces, Jean and Shannon Nolte, as well as countless friends. We will miss her. Memorial serviced in Lincoln to be announced this summer. Memorials to the Oregon Zoo, Nebraska Quilt Museum, The Nature Conservancy, or donor's choice.
