My mother Lucille was born in a small town on the southern Oregon coast in North Bend, Oregon on February 19, 1925. Her mother Kathrin Josephine Mead (Semmes) maiden name Williams. Her father, whome she never met, Edward Ralph Semmes. Within a few years my mother was moved with her mother to a town in northern California where Kathrin was to marry another man, my mother's step father, George Mead.
