

Lucille Ruby (Peters) Tompkins was born March 16, 1919 in Upland, Nebraska and went to be with her Lord on September 21,2015 after a brief illness.. Preceded in death by her husband William Joseph Tompkins, parents Christian Peters and Louise (Schmidt) Peters; her siblings Albert Peters, Gertrude (Peters) Danielson and Verna (Peters) Olson; and her son Gordon Dale Tompkins. Lucille was the beloved mother of Carol Jean (Tompkins) Holz ("Swede") and Carolyn Jo (Tompkins) Ogden (Paul) and mother-in-law to Karen Tompkins; seven grandchildren, Kathryn Rose-Schultz, Debra Holz Reilly, Cynthia Rose-Lauer, Douglas Rose, Frederick Holz, Crystal Tompkins and Andrea Tompkins; nine great-grandchildren one being deceased; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Her home was Lucille's greatest pleasure and she took pride in keeping her lawn and flowers immaculate. Lucille's pride was not limited to the outside as the inside of her home was always immaculate. Another of her greatest pleasures was shopping for clothes and her closets are proof of her enjoyment. She worked at Chase Bag for many years before retiring. Lucille, her husband and, son, Gordie, owned a fishing boat called Miss TnT. She enjoyed salmon fishing for years and had many fond memories with her husband and son fishing out of Ilwaco, WA. She also enjoyed travelling including three trips to Germany (homeland of her ancestors) and surrounding countries, she often visited her siblings and other relatives in Nebraska, but hated the thunder and lightning, and she travelled to Alaska and also spent many winters with her daughters in Welton, AZ. While there she enjoyed margaritas and shopping in Mexico. The last few years, she enjoyed listening and singing at Karaoke with Jean and "Swede" when in Ocean Park, WA. When in California, while with Paul and "Dodie", she enjoyed sitting on the deck in the sun, feeding the wild turkeys and gambling with the "Indians". Lucille will be greatly missed by all of her family.
