It is with deep sadness that I announce our beautiful and beloved mãe, mother-in-law, vovó, madrinha, tia, prima, and friend was peacefully called home to the Lord. Those who knew Maria will remember her unwavering kindness, generosity, hospitality, and one of the warmest, welcoming smiles. Maria enjoyed traveling, word search puzzles, walking, and shopping for deals only she could find. She could mend any clothing with thread and needle and, in her younger years, crocheted the most intricate table runners and doilies. Above everything, Maria’s greatest love was family and spending time with her cherished grandchildren. Her kitchen was the heart of her home and she lived to cook for and with family and friends. Maria’s many delicious Portuguese soups, clams and rice, baked spaghetti, hamburger nacho dip, the fabulous strawberry pie and her incredible french toast were lovingly prepared with her heart as much as her hands.
Thank you/obrigada Maria Manuela Guerreiro, my sweet mother-in-law. While you were often quiet in the presence of others, you had the silent strength of a warrior. I hope you know how much of a gift you will always be to us. We are so grateful to have been in your life and loved by you. Although heartbroken, we are comforted you are with your husband and loved ones and you are free from the dementia that started taking you years ago. Rest in heaven’s glory among the angels. You will always be with us and forever remembered and loved.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.lincolnmemorialpk.com for the Guerreiro family.
