He was born on September 4, 1940 in Portland, Oregon to Willard G. Brady and Freida E. Fuller. Michael graduated from West Linn High School in 1958. He was married to his wife, Darlene, on November 26, 1971. Michael served in the US Army from 1958 to 1963. While in the Army, he was a cryptographer. After the Army, he was a cash register repairman. Michael started with the Lake Oswego Fire Department in 1969 and retired as a Division Chief in 1998. His passions included: Portland State Athletics, skiing, hunting, quilting, boating, and showing his Arabian horses. Michael is survived by his wife, Darlene. His children: Debi Dutson (Chris), Stephie Strouts (Dave), Niki Vance (Norm), Rob Brady (Carmen), and Suzanne Boling (Eric). 12 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. His sister Jan Brady Anderson (Robert) and his brother Mark Brady (Bev).
The funeral arrangements will be held at 11:00 am on December 20, 2019 at Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home. 11801 SE Mt Scott Blvd., Portland, OR 97806. Graveside burial at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation at P.O. Drawer 498, Emmitsburg, MD 21727 (or online at Firehero.org), or the Oregon Humane Society at 1067 NE Columbia Blvd, Portland, OR 97211 in Michael’s name.
