Geta Musette Allen was born in 1934 in Jumbo, Arkansas, the third of seven children. Her childhood was one of movement and adventure as her father, Fred, moved the family across various states for his work with the railroad. The family eventually settled in Dufur, Oregon, in the late 1940s. It was there that Musette graduated from high school as part of a remarkably small class of just seven students.
In the 1960s, Musette began what would become a distinguished, decades-long career in the finance industry. Starting at Granning and Treese, she honed the skills that would lead her to Avco Finance and eventually to Electra Credit Union in the 1980s. Through hard work and dedication, she rose to the position of Executive Vice President at Electra, retiring in the mid-1990s.
Even in retirement, Musette’s commitment to her profession and community never wavered. She shared her expertise as a part-time auditor and volunteered her time on the supervisory committees for Northwest Adventist and NW Priority (formerly Portland Postal) Credit Unions. Her spirit of service extended to the American Legion, where she proudly served as Treasurer.
Outside of her professional life, Musette was an avid reader and a passionate golfer, enjoying time on the links well into her 70s. She was the last surviving sibling of her family.
Musette is survived by her three children: daughters Patricia (Michael) and Theresa (Stephen), and her son, Michael. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and a large extended family of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
