Myrna Lee Booth passed away peacefully at her home in Portland, Oregon, on June 17, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on August 16, 1939, in Elma, Washington, to Loren and Virginia (Sargent) McNair.
Myrna attended Elma High School and was a devoted member of Lynchwood Church of God. Her professional life was rooted in food service, beginning at the Doghouse Restaurant and later managing a Dairy Queen, where she was beloved by her staff. She went on to manage the café for the Centennial School District while working a second job in janitorial services at various places and eventually retired as the janitor of her cherished church, where she was honored with an award upon retirement.
Myrna married Bob Hammond at a young age, and together they had two sons, Steven and Robert. Later, she met and married Ivan Booth, he had two sons Mike & Craig. Ivan later adopted Steven and Robert & together they welcomed their daughter Kimberly.
In her younger years, Myrna raced with Ivan's race car at the Portland speedway in the powder puff classes. Later, she found great joy in gardening and spent countless therapeutic hours landscaping. She loved kids, singing in the church choir and was ruthless when playing Marbles. Myrna shared a love for rescuing animals with her daughter Kimberly, raising everything from squirrels, Monarch butterflys to skunks. She also enjoyed traveling on the road with Kimberly driving truck and kayaking for the first time at age 85.
Creative and nurturing, Myrna loved painting plaster figurines and caring for others. Her home was always open, filled with warmth, food, and love. She was a steadfast presence in the lives of many—nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends—offering support without judgment. Known for her spirited personality and deep faith, she was a foundation for her family and community.
