

Nick grew up most of his life in Gladstone, Oregon. He attended Gladstone Elementary and West Linn High School where he excelled at wrestling. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy for 4 years where he became an electrician.
In 1969, Nick married Betty Jo McCoun. They bought a house for their family in Oregon City where they lived for 28 years. Nick and his family enjoyed together the swimming pool, basketball on the patio, and motorcycle rides through the woods. Nick had a very successful commercial electrical company called Imperial Electric.
Nick retired early in life at 53 years old when he and Betty moved to Sun City West, Arizona. In his retirement, Nick enjoyed golfing as much as possible, evening happy hours with his Sun City West golfing friends, his grandkids, and of course his Miller High Life. Nick was affectionally known to his friends in Sun City West as "The Governor" after spending 29 years there.
Nick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Jo Lumsden, daughters Jill Durand (Mark) and Julie Poetsch, 4 grandchildren Austin, Dylan, Parker, and Nikelle, brother Greg Lumsden, sisters Meredith Holmes and Janis Irwin. He is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Lumsden, parents, and brother Brett Lumsden.

Nick will be buried at Willamette National Cemetery next to his son, Jeff on Friday, January 30th. You are welcome to join the military service at 11:30 a.m. Please arrive by 11:00 a.m. to join to the processional. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Wild Hare Saloon & Cafe in Oregon City from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. Please come and have a Miller High Life in his honor.
