Patricia Marie Brown departed this earth for heaven on March 28, 2022 after gracefully enduring an illness of cancer. Pat was born on August 20, 1938 in Amoret, Missouri, cherished daughter of Marie and Joe Cole.
Pat had a job as a Stenographer for the FBI in Kansas City, Missouri. She then travelled out west to Southern California where she continued working as a Stenographer for the FBI until having children. In 1969, Pat and her young family moved north to settle her family in the Portland Metro Area within the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
She was a woman of faith and family, raising her daughters in the Church and pointing them toward Jesus. As an active member of Village Baptist Church in Beaverton, Oregon, she gave of her time and energy toward those that were less fortunate. Pat also worked as a hospice volunteer and supported missionaries across the world with a special heart for the people of India.
Pat’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She adored her three girls and created a home filled with memorable traditions and celebrations. Pat enjoyed cooking, sewing, camping, and gardening with expert skills in landscaping.
Pat persevered through her trials and hardships that included a severe neck condition of torticollis, depression, and heart breaking disappointments. Despite these challenges, her faith in God carried her through, and she taught us this example of always trusting God no matter what.
She danced her way through life with beauty, love, and a contagious laughter. Her aqua blue eyes sparkled with hope for the future as she walked with God and shared her story of faith with others.
Pat spent the last four years of her life at Woodland Heights Assisted Living in Tigard, Oregon. There she was a caring friend to others and brought a calm kindness to the community. She was an excellent listener and encourager to the other residents.
Pat is survived by her brother; Ed Cole, her three lovely daughters; Robin Vrvilo, April Eastman, and Heather Hurst, two sons-in-law; Ben Vrvilo and Paul Eastman. In addition are her eight precious grandchildren; Natalie, Tim, Jordan, Emily, Shawna, Isaac, Madelyn, and Jacob. We are so grateful Pat was able to meet her adorable great-grandson, sweet baby James. In 2018 Pat met her sweetheart, Bob Kerns, the love of her life.
Her unending love lives on and blossoms through her family as the spring flowers bring a constant reminder of God’s promises. Pat is dearly missed by all who knew her.
