Pearl was born June 19, 1923 at Roanoke, IL, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Gudeman) Pfister. She loved school and said that her senior year was the best because that was the year she surrendered her life to Christ in repentance and was baptized.
Pearl went to business college at the urging of her sister Dorothy and worked as a secretary for R.G. LeTourneau in Peoria, IL.
She and Robert Miller were joined in holy matrimony on Sunday, October 26th, 1947 at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church.
They moved to Portland, OR in 1948 and in the years that followed built their own home.
Pearl excelled in hospitality. Everyone loved her delicious meals and baked treats and she warmly welcomed hundreds of overnight guests in her home on SE Mill Street. She also served as a member and president of the PTA at her children’s schools.
Pearl is survived by her daughters, Marlise (Gary) Steiner, Graham, WA, Linda (Gary) Schulenberg, Canby, Carol (Perry) Klopfenstein, Gridley, IL, Cynthia (Ronald) Vandenburg, Milwaukie; sons, Stephen (Julie), Corvallis, Timothy (Kristina), Estacada; sister-in-law, Ila Pfister; 22 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
