Phyllis Patricia Gardner

Phyllis Patricia Gardner, age 77, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Portland, Oregon while surrounded by her children listening to Willie Nelson. Phyllis will be remembered for her vivacious outlook on life and deep love of her family.

Phyllis was born in Portland, Oregon, on January 19, 1948. Born to J. Scott Gardner and Lois M. Jones, Phyllis was one of five children and spent her childhood in Portland, Oregon. Family trips to the Oregon Coast were joyful core memories that translated into her continued love for visits to Cannon Beach throughout her lifetime. Phyllis graduated from Oregon State University then went on to pursue a nursing degree at the University of California San Francisco. Phyllis spent the next several decades working as a registered nurse in Portland, Oregon, while juggling the beautiful chaos of raising two children. A diehard Portland Trailblazers fan, her other passions in life included traveling and spending time with her family. In her twilight years painting became a creative outlet she deeply enjoyed.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Alicia Gehling, and her son, Victor Gehling.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Phyllis on Friday, August 8th from 11:00am - 3:00pm, at Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd, Portland, Oregon, 97229.
