Richard was born June 7, 1926 in Long Pine Nebraska to parents Heber Lee Bond and Louise Agnes Cushing. He was raised during the Great Depression with his two sisters, Jeaneen and Neta in Haysprings, Nebraska. He later made Richland, Washington his home where he worked at Hanford Nuclear Power Plant for 43 years before retiring to live in Portland, Oregon near his sister, Jeaneen.
Richard’s nephew and namesake often remember him as being a tough cowboy because he was always raising or riding his horses, which were a passion of his until just a couple years prior to his passing. Many of his family remember his love of cooking and his eccentric sense of humor.
Richard Bond is survived by his sister Neta Lee Olson in Ovid, Colorado and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
