

Richard Lavere Harriman, known to his friends and family as Dick was born September 28, 1925 and passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 at the age of 90. His loving wife Margery Harriman preceded him in Death. Dick served 2 years in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He continued to actively serve as a member of the Oregon Chapter of American Merchant Marine Veterans.
After active duty Dick went on to work in the Tire industry eventually running his own Tire shop supply business until he retired turning the business over to his older son Bill. After Retirement Dick was active in the community helping deliver meals and books to veterans, he was an avid golfer and loved to bowl. He was a lifelong member of the Beaverton Elks lodge and loved to spend time there with Helen Loudie.
Dick leaves behind his two sons Bill Harriman, and Jay Harriman, his granddaughter Jessie Harriman along with two great grandsons, His best Friend Ray Snooks his companion Helen Loudie, and many other family members and friends.
There will be a memorial service on Wednesday June 1st, 2016, at 2:00 PM at The United Church of Christ, 11695 SW Park Way, Portland (Cedar Hills), Oregon, 97225. Please bring your fondest memory of Dick and his adventures and we encourage you to share them.
