He leaves behind his siblings, Charles Waddle, Steven Keller (Jeanine), and Jenine Keller. Rick was a grandfather to five grandchildren and numerous stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
Rick served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he began his working life as a boilermaker at Portland Wire & Iron Works, progressing to a management position. He then changed careers to become a small business owner, running an art supply and custom framing store. Additionally, he opened and operated a Mexican restaurant for several years. Rick eventually retired from James River Corporation, where he served as an assistant plant manager.
Known for his convoluted storytelling, Rick had a unique way of bringing joy and laughter to gatherings, often captivating his audience with tales that seemed to have no end.
Rick loved his extended family, and he truly valued the time spent with his grandchildren, never tiring of their company.
A celebration of Rick's life will be held on April 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Willamette National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with honors. Following the service, friends and family are invited to continue the celebration of his life at Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
