Dr. Robert W. Bruechert Sr.

Dr. Bob peacefully went to be with his Lord on September 23, 2016. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Carl and Meta Bruechert on June 21, 1931. He graduated with a BS from Univ of Portland in 1953 and married Bonnie Troutner on June 25, 1955. Bob received his MD from the U of O Medical School in 1957 and practiced family medicine in Oregon City until 1965. He then completed his specialty in Ophthalmology from Baylor University and joined the Oregon City Eye Clinic in 1969 where he practiced until retirement.

Bob was an exceptional photographer, enjoyed his Christmas tree farm, was very involved in church and Bible study and served on the board of Western Seminary.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie; children, Barbara (Gordon) Everett, Bob (Karin)Bruechert Jr, and Beverly Bruechert, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, all whom he dearly loved. Bob was preceded in death by his only brother, Carl Bruechert Jr.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at New Life Church in West Linn on Saturday, October 22 at 2pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Western Seminary or Global Eyeglass Ministry.
