Ross Staples was born in Alliance, Nebraska to Hollis and Lydia Staples on March 11, 1929. He was the youngest of 5 children and he attended grade school in Nebraska and Portland. He graduated from Gresham High School in 1947 and married Dorothy Audrey Jones on April 6, 1948 at the Powell Valley Covenant Church. He lived and worked in the Portland/Gresham area most of his working years and then moved to Dayton, WA in 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Staples his brother Doyle Staples and his sister Florence Greeley. his two sons, Marlen (wife Rhonda) and Darcy Staples and his daughters Chalene (husband David Waltner) and Cheryl Hopkins. He leaves 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Melvin Staples and sisters Mildred Tracey and Jead Robinson, two daughters Marlene Waltner and Dorothy Staples.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16th at 2:00P.M. There will be a gathering for family and friends at the Sunnyside Church of the Nazarene following the service.
