Scott Andrew Wiley was born in Portland, Oregon on August 31, 1981 to Charles and Sheryl (Cline) Wiley. He attended Grant High School prior to entry into the US Navy, where he served honorably as a Corpsman with the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion of the 2nd Marine Division during three tours in Iraq. Upon his discharge, he worked as a veterinarian technician and a bicycle mechanic.
Scott had many friends; people were drawn to his generous and mischievous spirit. He was intelligent and creative. Through his military service he developed a strong sense of honor.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Sheryl; a son, Abbott; and by his brother Eric, sister-in-law Dimitrina, and nephews Ivan and Marius.
Scott’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1624 NE Hancock Street in Portland, on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions in Scott’s name to either Team Rubicon or the American Humane Society.
