Mrs. Sinkenesh Aychew Alemu

Sinkenesh Alemu was born in Gonder province in Ethiopia to her beloved father Ato Aychew Gazahegne and her loving mother W/O Achamyelesh Tsegaye in European Calendar 1948.

W/O Sinkenesh completed her primary education at Tsadiku Yohannes and her secondary education at Fasiledes General. After completing her secondary education at Fasiledes, she continued advanced education in medicine. W/O Sinkenesh was accepted with high honors at Gonder School of Medicine and Science where she studied Nursing. After completing the nursing program with high honors, she was married to Ato Tigabu Alemu. Ato Tigabu and W/O Sinkenesh were blessed with four children; two boys and two girls.

After gradution, Sister Sinkneshe and her husband reloacated to Addis Ababa, and she took a postion as a labor and delivery nurse at Gandhi and Beletshachew Hospital. After she pursued further education in pediatric nursing at Addis Ababa University, she continued working at Lideta Clinic and World Vision. Then in 1995 EC, she moved to the US and continued working in the nursing field.

While working in a field she loved, a health issue arose and she had to stop working. During her recovery, W/O Sinkenesh enjoyed her life with her friends and family. On June 23rd, surrounded by her family and loved ones, she passed away at the age of 76.

A funeral service for Sinkenesh will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:45 PM at Finley Sunset Hills Mortuary, 6801 SW SUNSET HWY, PORTLAND, OR 97225, followed by a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
