Stan was born on November 12, 1925 to Emmett and Lillian (Hill) Lowe in Tacoma, Washington.
Stan attended Lincoln High School, Class of 1943 in Tacoma prior to working as a fireman for the Milwaukee Railroad. In April of 1944 he enlisted in the US Navy and served on the ammunition ship USS Amador in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged as sole surviving son after 1 year and 9 months, as his older brother James R. Lowe in the Marine Corps was killed in the invasion of Peleliu.
Stan enrolled in the College of Puget sound and had nearly finished his freshman year when he met his wife-to-be. After several months of dating he married Georgann (Ann) Branchflower on Sept. 11, 1948. He graduated in 1951.
Stan was an Elks member in Tacoma, and also a member of the Lions Club, and enjoyed recreating on the Puget Sound in a variety of ways. He became an avid golfer, bridge player, and most of all he enjoyed music, not only dancing to it, but listening and finally playing it on his organs which he upgraded periodically, finally to a very contemporary computerized keyboard type.
He spent much of his working years in the wood product industry as a salesman, traveling the country. We lived in Covina, CA. for several years before moving back to the Northwest settling in Portland, OR in 1963. Stan was a dedicated member of East Hill Foursquare Church, serving and worshiping for many years.
After retirement, Stan and Ann enjoyed several cruises and a great trip to Israel.
Stan is survived by his wife, his daughter, LeJoyce "L.J." Jones (Greg) and Son James "Jim" R. Lowe, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Bradley L. Lowe.
