When just five days old, Steve was adopted by parents Sinclair (Binny) and Joan Doggett… At the age of two, he was joined in the family by his sister, Sara. Steve grew up in Portland, attending Russell Elementary School, Parkrose Middle School, and Parkrose High School. Following High School, he did some coursework at Mt. Hood Community College.
Steve worked for Costco for 17 years, working his way up to become a supervisor. He developed many long lasting friendships through his work, and was widely respected for his go-to attitude and his broad knowledge of how to get things done. For the past few years, he has not worked due to disability.
Steve loved cooking—drawing inspiration from great cookbooks and television shows about cooking. He enjoyed cooking for friends and family and creatively using spices. Steve also loved hunting and fishing—and perhaps even more, found great pleasure in the planning and organizing of his hunting and fishing trips. He was most at home when he was fishing or hunting around the Pacific Northwest.
Steve is survived by his parents, Binny and Joan, his sister Sara and husband Brian, and their son—his nephew—Tyler.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, October 3rd. at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes in Portland.
