Sueann Schneider

Sue Ann Schneider (69) passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2024, after a long fought battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends at the time of her passing.

Born July 26th, 1955 to Helen and Roy Granholm, Sue lived her rambunctious young life in Dundee, IL with her three brothers Charles, Steven, and Timothy, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends nearby. She attended Immanuel Lutheran school until eighth grade, high school at Dundee Community High School, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, White Water with her degree in Physical Education.

After college Sue moved to Oregon where she met the love of her life and husband of 20 years, Steven Schneider, and became a mom to Steven Jr, Amy, Ben and Aubrey. Sue and Steve raised their family in Estacada, Oregon - a community they loved and where Sue proudly taught Physical Education for 38 years. She loved her students, her friends, and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. In 2003, Steve lost his battle with renal cell cancer at the age of 51. Though devastated, Sue “kept it moving” (as she would say) and continued her commitment to community, friends, and family. After retirement, Sue moved back to Illinois to enjoy her final years with her loving family.

She lived an active, adventurous life. She loved playing with her dogs, running, working in the yard, camping, kayaking, and she was a proud member of the “No Balls Left Behind” golf group.

Sue was strong willed, sassy, and stubborn at times, but she had an enormous heart. She was generous, brave, and always true to herself. She was a loyal daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and dog-mom.

Sue will be remembered for the love she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them- and if you knew her, you knew it. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before her. She will be missed dearly.

A private celebration of life will be planned for close friends and family.
