

Sylvia Doreen Bilotti passed away with her family at her side on August 24, 2015 at age 82. Sylvia was born on January 8th 1933 to Herbert and Ann Rogers in London, England. She grew up in London during World War II and spent time in the air raid shelters during the bombings and experienced first hand the destruction of her city.
Later after completing school, Sylvia went to work for Harrod’s of London where she was trained as a dressmaker. She later moved to Arkansas and Texas following her sister Joan a GI bride. She later moved to New York City where she lived with her parents and two sisters. Sylvia worked as a dressmaker for the French dress designer Valentine. She later worked for Lord and Taylor in Manhattan when she met her husband Anthony “Tony” Bilotti. They were married on July 24, 1954 only a few weeks after meeting. Marriage followed with the birth of their two children Andy and Tracy. She later became a US citizen and embraced her American life but maintained her proud British heritage. Sylvia and Tony were married for 42 years until his death in 1996. In 1970 the family left New York and settled in Portland Oregon where she lived until her death. Sylvia worked for Norm Thompson Outfitters and retired after working there for over 20 years.
Sylvia was preceded in death by; her parents Herbert and Ann, husband Tony, and sister Joan Decker. She is survived by; her children Anthony Bilotti M.D, and Tracy Gregory, sister Josephine Rogers, grandchildren Ben and Sam Bilotti and Brandon and Taylor Kayfes.
A private graveside service will be held at Mt Calvary Cemetery on Wednesday. August 26 at 10:00am.
