In Loving Memory of a Life Well Lived
It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude that we announce the peaceful passing of Terry Lynn Hoffman, who left us on January 25th, 2026, at the age of 76. He leaves behind a legacy defined by kindness, dedication, and an unwavering devotion to the people he cherished most.
For many years, he served his community through his work at the Department of Motor Vehicles. He approached every day with patience, good humor, and a genuine desire to help others. Whether assisting a nervous new driver or sharing a laugh with a longtime colleague, he brought warmth to a place not always known for it. Sports were one of his great joys—whether watching a big game, debating plays with family and friends, or simply enjoying the camaraderie that came with being a lifelong fan. But nothing compared to the pride he felt watching his grandchildren, Clara (14) and Lucas (16), take the ice for their hockey games. He was their loudest cheerleader, their steady supporter, and one of their biggest fans, beaming with pride at every game they played.
Above all else, he was a devoted husband and a loving father. Celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in August 2025 was a wonderful way for Terry and his wife, Sonja, to honor all the love and joy they had shared during their life together. His daughter Sarah (45) and son Jacob (40) grew up with a dad who showed up —every time, without fail. He offered guidance without judgment, humor when it was needed most, and a sense of stability that shaped their lives in lasting ways.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his easy smile, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. His legacy lives on in the family he adored, the friends who cherished him, and the countless small acts of kindness he offered throughout his life.
Terry leaves behind his wife, Sonja Hoffman; daughter, Sarah (Brady) Hendrickson; grandchildren, Lucas and Clara Hendrickson; son, Jacob (Melanie) Hoffman; and sister-in-law, Jocelyn Hoffman, as well as his niece, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who all will continue to celebrate his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Doris Hoffman; brother, Bruce Hoffman; sister, Sheila Carson; and brother-in-law, Larry Carson. A celebration of life will be held in Summer of 2026. Date and Location forthcoming.
