We were so sad to hear that Tom had died.  It has been a long ,sad time for you and your family.  Bernie always kept us up to date on how things were going.....You two were always at the Dieringer doings.....like the only Italian members of the family ..

Dear Scafidi Family,  Our hearts go out to you.  We have many fond memories of Tom and the whole Scafidi clan. We are all thinking of you during this difficult time.

As one of  the "ASCENSION" alumni, my deepest sympathies go out to the family. I fondly remember Tom , my dad, Tony Rinella, & many others sweating away at the spaghetti dinner. Dear Scafidi Famiily,

I have very fond memories of Tom.  I worked at Edwards Market in Dayton until it closed.  Both Jack Edwards and Tom loved to give me a bad time; only because I could dish it out as fast as they could.  We used to love to get his late afternoon calls for the produce order to be delivered the next day. 

Mike and Kathy as you got older and your parents would take a break, we enjoyed getting to know you as well, as you did the early morning stint.

I currently am a principal in the Newberg School District, and enjoyed seeing Tom, in two of the schools that I have been a principal.  It was like old home week as we would commiserate about the good ole days.

May you cherish the many memories you have of your husband and Dad.  He was a terrific individual who loved life and all that it held.

Dear Scafidi Family,
I have fond memories of your family from my days at Ascension.  It's so hard to lose a husband and father; especially a guy with such a big personality as Tom. I will be thinking of you in the days ahead. May you feel the love of all your family and friends.

Dear Eileen and Family, I met Tom through my former husband, and was instantly welcomed without question into their family of friends... I cant say I have ever met anyone quite like Tom... unconditional friendliness and always laughing and enjoying life... He will be missed, for many!

Please accept my love and prayers at the death of Mr. Scafidi.  I remember him and his family very well.  What a gift to Marycrest High School and to the Dominican Sisters.  Love to all the family.  Sister Diane who was Sister Phyllis Marie at Marycrest from 1965-73.

I'm so sorry Tom is gone.  I first met Tom Scafidi when I was fifteen years old and working as a box boy at a grocery in McMinnville in 1962.  I learned a lesson from Tom early on when I borrowed ten bucks from him back then for a date.  As he gladly loaned me the ten bucks I asked what would happen if I didn't pay it back.  Tom said, "I won't loan you any more money."  A simple and effective lesson for me.  Of course I paid the money back the next payday....and kept my credit good with Tom.  I've seen him and spoken with him delivering produce many times over the years and felt blessed to have known him then and now.  I teared up when I read he's gone.  He will be missed by so many.

I met the Scafidi's the day they moved into Parkrose some 45 years ago. They became our best friends, second parents to me. To this day, theirs is the only home that isn't direct family that I walk into without knocking. They wouldn't want it any other way. As a teenager I learned the value of hard work helping Tom on his produce route. Tom and Eileen's St Patrick's Day parties were legendary and they graciously hosted a 40th birthday party in their home for me. Tom was a very unique character. One of a kind. I admired his devotion to his church and his charitable work. It was a very, very sad day when we lost him. I love you Tom.
