She was born on October 17, 1944, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Augustus Lafayette Caruthers and Elizabeth Beatrice (Dickson) Caruthers, and was raised in Texas. Virgie later made her home in Oregon, where she spent many years working as a statistical analyst. She retired from Western Wood Products after 19 years of dedicated service.
Virgie enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her flowers, and found joy in cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also appreciated the simple pleasures of life - playing bingo and card games with neighbors, and taking trips to the Oregon coast.
She will be remembered for her warm smile, generous nature, and the care she showed to those around her. Time spent with loved ones was something she deeply valued, and she took pride in creating a welcoming home.
Virgie is survived by her four children: Heidi Ann Vass, Sarkis George Serkoian, Rebecca Jean Serkoian, and Dev Serk; her granddaughter, Bronwyn Augusta Vass; as well as her grandson, Seth Willis.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3rd, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
Her life will be honored, and her memory held with love.
