Wayne Edward Cody was born in Portland, Oregon on December 7, 1922 to Michael and Mabel Cody. He spent three years in the Army and later married Denise Duriand, who he was married to for 49 years. From this union came two sons, Phillip and Marc Cody. In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed photography and hiking; he and Denise spent a lot of time hiking, especially after his retirement. Wayne is preceded in death by his son Phillip who passed away in 1999 and his wife Denise who passed away in 2005. He is survived by his son Marc (Theresa J. Auld) and his granddaughter Misty Auld.
