Bill received his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1986 from Kansas State University.
Bill is the father of three children, Grant, Benjamin and Anna, who were his pride and joy.
Dr. Cleveland opened his very own practice in April 1996, the Salmon Creek Veterinarian Clinic. On April 7, 2012, Bill married his lovely and devoted wife, Charlie.
After being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in May 2012, Bill underwent a long and inspiring journey with his bone marrow transplant. A special thanks to the OHSU team on 14K for the love and support through his trials. Bill passed in the arms of wife, Charlie, May 20, 2014.
Bill is survived by his wife, Charlie; brother, Joel; sister, Jamie; three children; a large extended family; and four dogs.
In lieu of flowers, Bill's family asks for donations in memory of Dr. Bill Cleveland "Dream Tamwilla" (a bridge of hope from 14K to home) to the OHSU Knight Cancer Challenge at: onedown.org.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, at the World Forestry Center.

A message from Charlie Dieker-Cleveland
Words can never express how truly thankful I am for your support, friendship, prayers and love in the last two years during Bill’s battle with leukemia. We never walked this walk on our own, and Bill's children and I are exceptionally grateful to all of you. To my boss Mike Jones, in particular, who afforded me the opportunity to do something absolutely unprecedented in today’s work environment by staying next to my husband around the clock and caring for him…..loyalty and appreciation can never be enough for the truly wonderful gift of time spent with Bill.
Everyone’s journey in life together is sealed by fate…Bill born to his family, Bill and his former partner creating a family, and Bill and I in our midlife to his final breath. Bill’s courageous and valiant battle with cancer did not define him, though he is one of the strongest men I have ever known. He was a son, proud father, husband, accomplished veterinarian, brother, uncle and friend and a person whose heart touched many. It has been an honor to be his partner and a privilege to be with him through one of the most difficult times in his life. I am a better person because of him and our journey together. He was a brilliant, loyal, gentle, kind, noble man who was easy to love, and being by his side in good times and in bad was an honor for me and the thought of a tomorrow without him is unbearable.. Our love and partnership was something some people search a lifetime for and never get.
We ask that you join us in a ”Celebration of Life” as we honor this wonderful man at the World Forestry Center, Portland Oregon. Friday June 13th (His daughter Anna said he would have loved that date) at 1:30 pm.
