

William L. “Jake” Jacobson was born in Twin Falls, ID., raised in Portland, OR, and resided in Gresham, OR. He attended Gordon Russell Elementary and Benson High School, where he learned welding. He went on to attend Portland State University. Jake served four years in the US Navy, repairing nuclear submarine reactors. He was married on July 1, 2000, in Las Vegas, to Carolyn M. Bellah.
Jake worked for Delong Corporation fabricating docks in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He also worked for McCullugh and Sons for six years as a metal fabricator. Finally, Jake retired from Precision Castparts after 25 years as a radiology reader and a supervisor of a larger repair department.
Jake joined Gateway Elks Lodge #2411 in 1969 where he was Exalted Ruler from 2003 to 2004. He was very active for fifteen years at Meadowood Spring Speech and Hearing Camp. He was also the president of the Oregon and Washington Past Exalted Ruler Association from 2010 to 2011. He enjoyed his involvement with the Cub Scouts Pack #544 and the Boy Scouts Troop #544 for six years. He was a Scout Master and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Jake had many other interests. Some of which included motor home travel, 100 mile hikes with his son, snow skiing, and watching T.V.
Jake is survived by his wife Carolyn M. Jacobson; daughter, Kim Carroll (Mark); sons, Eric and Scot Jacobson; grandchildren, Jeff , Tim, Brittany, Ashley, Sapphire, Ridge, Espen, Savannah, Tristan, and Tiarrah; and great-grandchildren, Blake and Kaylie.
A Memorial Service will be held at Gateway Elks Lodge #2411, 700 NE 100th Ave, Portland, OR, on Sunday, July 8th, at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to ENF or Meadowood Springs Speech and Hearing Camp.
