Mrs. Agnes M. Powers

Agnes M. Powers, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 21st at her residence in the village of Canton. Double graveside services for Agnes and her husband Gale Powers will be held on October 30th at 11:30 am at Crary Mills Cemetery with Kenneth Ashley celebrant. Gale died on March 7, 2014. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service.

Agnes M. Powers, born April 18, 1936, in Madrid, daughter of Guy E. Blanchard and Amy Ellen Taber Blanchard of Madrid. She graduated from Potsdam Central High School in 1955. She was married to Gale W. Powers of Pierrepont on June 16, 1956 in West Potsdam.

Agnes worked at Canton Potsdam Hospital from 1976 to 2000 as a Diet Clerk at which time she retired. Agnes enjoyed square dancing, reading, walking and her grandchildren or any children that walked into her house.

Agnes is survived by her children: daughter Amy Powers, granddaughters Arijanna Powers and Justine Beutel of Renssealer Falls; son Timothy and Lisa Powers, granddaughters Kayla Powers and Sierra Powers of Russell, granddaughter Kendra Barkley of Ogdensburg.

Agnes is also survived by her brother Paul and Janet Blanchard of Hannawa Falls, brother Spencer and Sue Blanchard of West Potsdam and sister Amy Wilson LaBrake of West Potsdam, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by granddaughters Ayla Powers and Kelly Beutel.
