Ken was born November 27, 1928, in Canton, the son of the late Kenneth and Charlotte (Stevens) Morgan.
Ken grew up in Unionville, and graduated from Potsdam Central High School in 1947, where he had a notable athletic career, having been inducted in the Potsdam Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame’s inaugural class. Ken attended Potsdam State where he was a member of the baseball team. Ken proudly served and was a veteran of the United States Army from 1950-1952. He was stationed in Nuremburg and Heidelberg, but remembered fondly the beauty of Garmish. Ken retired as an equipment operator for the Niagara Mohawk Power Company after 35 years of service.
He married Mary Sellers on January 24, 1953 at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam, spending 50 happy years together. In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mare, in 2003.
Left to cherish his memory are his children; Lisa (Bill) Powers of Queensbury, Jan Morgan (Ken Johnner) of Potsdam, and Gayle (Dan) Hayes of Hannawa Falls. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Patrick (Danielle) Powers of Greenwich CT, Kevin (Stefanie) Powers of Stamford CT, Morgan Powers (Jon Pratt) of Essex Junction VT, Katie (Scott) Geidel of Potsdam, Michael Hayes of South Colton; and great grandchildren Kenneth, Kailyn, Megan, and Declan Powers, and Nora and Emily Geidel.
