Wanetta Tardelli

Wanetta Katherine James Tardelli 85 passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025 surrounded by her daughters. Born on April 7, 1940 in Canton, NY, she was the youngest daughter to Elsie Alexander and Harry James.Wanetta attended Potsdam Central High school and later earned her cosmetology license as a young adult.

In 1961 she married Gary R. Tardelli and had four daughters. Wanetta lived her life for her family and helped welcome eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild into the world. She loved traveling to visit family, she enjoyed cooking and having family dinners, as well as attending events to celebrate her grandchildren.

Wanetta was a loving, kind and compassionate person. Her family was her greatest source of pride and provided her enormous joy throughout her lifetime. She was often referred to as the “life of party” as well as a tremendous source of strength to all who loved her. Wanetta was anchored by her strong faith and positive attitude about life.

Wanetta is survived by her four grateful daughters Penni (Michael) of Canton, NY, Arvella (Wallace) of Clifton Park, NY, Shelley of Monmoth Junction, NJ, and Gala (Frank) of Setauket, NY. Wanetta was predeceased by her husband, parents, brother Harry James, and sisters June Whalen, Greta Loveless, Connie Woods, Freda LaBrake, Louise Jones, and Rita Lynch.

Calling hours will be at the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam, NY on Tuesday, December 30th from 4-7 pm. A funeral mass will be held the next day at St. Mary's Church at 10:30 am.
