Mildred "Midge" Howe

Mildred was born on March 25, 1929 in Prattsburgh to Leland & Hattie Wraight Ackley. Midge was a dedicated member and volunteer of the Prattsburgh United Methodist Church, being involved with various projects and committees. Many residents of Prattsburgh enjoyed the wonderful meals she helped prepare at the church. Midge was active in the community as well. She and her sister resurrected and co-chaired the Strawberry Festival. She was a past president of the Senior Citizens and the Alumni Association, but most of all she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sorely missed.

Friends and family may call at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh, NY on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Mildred’s funeral service will be on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Prattsburgh United Methodist Church, 9 Porter St., Prattsburgh, NY at 2:00pm. Burial to follow at the Prattsburgh Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Mildred’s name to the Prattsburgh United Methodist Church or Prattsburgh Volunteer Ambulance.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Russell I. Howe. Children; Rusty Howe and wife Linda of Prattsburgh, NY, Jackie Remmers and husband Pat of Houston, TX, Rex Howe and wife Pat of Joppa, MD, Tim Howe and wife Pam of Westbrook, ME. Grandchildren; Stacy Howe, Lori Shin, Crissy Remmers, Justin Howe, Jessica Howe, Kady Howe. Mildred was predeceased by parents, Leland and Hattie Ackley, brother, Cloyse Ackley and sister, Gertrude Smith.
