Carl Samuel Edwards, 83, of Deatsville, Alabama passed away Wednesday February 22, 2017. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday February 25th at the Shoal Creek Cemetery with Pastor Pat Ozment officiating.
Mr. Edwards was born in Spiegner, Alabama on August 14, 1933 to the late Samuel Harmon Edwards and Zelma Lou Blackwell Edwards. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, hunting,fishing and had served in the Alabama National Guard for over 20 years. He and his wife, Joyce, were longtime members of Deatsville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Edwards of Deatsville; two daughters and a son in law, Teresa E. Rains of Elmore, Rebecca E. and Henry Ward of Wetumpka; two sons and daughters in law, Rodney and Beth Edwards of Villa Rica, GA., Carl and Sharon Edwards of Aberdeen, MD.; two grandchildren, Heath Ward of Seattle, WA., Brittney Nelson of Mooresville, NC.; two great grandchildren, Gavin McClure and Nolan Nelson.
