

Charlotte Fagan Stanford, a resident of Fair Haven Retirement Community in Birmingham, AL, died peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born on September 20, 1933, in Piedmont, Alabama, to William Dewey and Clem (Savage) Fagan.
She graduated in 1955 from Huntingdon College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secretarial Sciences. She married Dan Stanford on March 1, 1958. They were married for 39 years until his death in 1997.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Through the years, she enjoyed sewing for her family, entertaining with her husband, and serving in her church, Covenant Presbyterian in Montgomery. In later years, she used her accounting and secretarial skills to manage her husband’s business.
“Charlie,” as she was called by her grandchildren, was an avid card and game player, and her competitiveness was often contagious. Its with a smile that generations of us remember our times together around the game table.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan. She is survived by daughters, Caroline Powers (John), Cissie Johnson (Chris); grandchildren, Michael Dove (McKenzie); Andrew Dove, Frances Moser (Rob),Haden Johnson, Alea Johnson; great-grandchildren, Abby Moser, Olivia Moser, Sam Moser, Luke Moser, and Liam Dove.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery. Arrangements are being handled by Ridout’s - Brown -Service Prattville Chapel. Donations can be made to Fair Haven Methodist Homes for the Aging, Fountain of Love.
The family would like to thank the staff in the Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities at Fair Haven for the love and care they showed our mom.
