

Georgia Elizabeth “Sis” Franklin Post, 93, of Prattville, passed away Thursday May 28, 2015 at the home of her daughter and son in law, Frankie and Randall McGalliard after a short illness. Her last months were spent with lots of love, laughter and many hugs and kisses from her grandchildren, great grands and one precious little great, great grandson, Braxton, who gave her many hours of happiness in his 21 months.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday May 31 at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel followed by her funeral service at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastors Tim Scarbrough and Charles McGalliard officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memorial Gardens.
She was born on August 12, 1921 and was a resident of Prattville for 93 years. She was a member of Pratt Court Baptist Church and lived on the corner of 5th and Chestnut streets for the last 53 years. She worked at Continental Gin and sprayed bombs during World War II. But her most important job was being a wife and mother and was known for her cake baking.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Jesse F. Post, her parents F. N. and Beatrice Franklin, three brothers, Benny, Leo and J.T. Franklin and a son by marriage David L. Williams, father and mother in law Lloyd and Josephine Post and many more Post family members.
She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Janice and Dan Foster and Frankie and Randall McGalliard, four grandchildren, Kim (Michael) Lann, David Williams, Heath and Cande McGalliard and Chase and Sunday McGalliard; seven great grandchildren Ethan, Payton, and Maddison Lann, Codie, Dixie, Chaleigh and Chloe McGalliard, one great- great grandson, Braxton Lann and her faithful little lap and nap dogs Jax and Tiger. Pallbearers are Heath, Chase and Codie McGalliard, David Williams, Ethan, Payton and Braxton Lann.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny and Ricky Franklin, J.L., Bobby, Ricky and Mack Post, Jr., Mark Brown, Barry and Bart Lassiter.
