John Percy Daves

John P. “Bud” Daves, Sr., 74 of Statesville, passed away Thursday September 7, 2017. Funeral services were held Monday September 11th at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with the Reverend Fred Bailey officiating. Burial with Military Honors followed at the Ivy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Daves was a U.S Navy veteran of the Vietnam War with duty experience aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hornet. He was retired with 37 years of service with International Paper Company. His life was his children and grandchildren and he will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his son, John Percy “Boots” Daves, Jr., a grandson, Davey Causey and a sister, Elizabeth Tyus Houston. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose, a daughter and son in law, Debbie and Randy Causey; grandsons Rann Causey and fiancé, Taylor Herman, John Drew Causey; three sisters, Roberta Loumiet, Rachel Hosey, Wanda Sanders and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and close friends.

Pallbearers were Rann Causey, John Drew Causey, Damon Brown, Bubba Glenn, Roy Glenn and Wayne Gray.

Honorary pallbearers were Marcus R. Houston, John Rosenberry, John Rigsby and Buck Sellers.

Visitation was held Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
