Born in Montgomery, Alabama on July 17, 1959, Eddie was the son of John Edward Norman, Sr., and Nancy Faulk Haines. Eddie was the oldest of his siblings and cousins, forging the way for his generation. Following the footsteps of his parents, Eddie joined the family trade as an elevator technician. His success in this trade allowed him to live abundantly in many different states throughout his life, and in Florida, he started a family and gained two beautiful daughters, Markie and Tori, who became his true pride and joy. Although he had no sons, he had a lifelong cherished relationship with his nephew, Carter, who he also loved as his own.
Beyond his professional life, Eddie's enduring passion was ballroom dancing. From the elegant waltz to the lively cha-cha, Eddie graced countless dance floors with his graceful steps and infectious enthusiasm. He was a familiar and cherished face at local dance halls, often leading the line dance or expertly twirling a partner across the floor. Ballroom dancing was not just a hobby for Eddie; it was an expression of his zest for life, his appreciation for music, and his joy in connecting with others. He found immense happiness in the rhythm and movement, and he shared that joy freely with everyone around him.
Eddie will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of sharing a dance, a conversation, or an elevator ride with him. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and the sheer joy he found in life's elegant movements will continue to inspire us all.
