

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday August 13 at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel followed by his funeral service at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Travis Coleman and Pastor Dave Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Prattville Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Reverend Dismukes was born in Elmore County on September 14, 1931 to the late Aubrey Cortez Dismukes and Issalee Dix Dismukes.
He was a farmer and spent many years as an agricultural consultant in the Autauga, Dallas and Lowndes County areas. He also was called to the ministry and served as pastor for the Pratt Court and Billingsley Baptist Churches for a number of years.
In 2011 he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Billie Jean, and a son Derek Dismukes in 1963.
He is survived by two daughters and sons –in-law; Debby and Ron Rainer of Birmingham, Karen and Roy Grimes of Prattville; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Nita Dismukes of Millbrook; two brothers, Albert Dismukes of Ft. Walton Beach and Dan Dismukes of Prattville; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other close family members.
Active pallbearers will be Adam Parker, Ryan Rainer, Clay Rainer, Neal Cox, Jay Brothers and Will Dismukes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Vinson, David Green and the Men’s Sunday School Class of the Prattville First Baptist Church.
