William Carlos Revell (Billy), 76, of Prattville, Alabama and formerly of Opp, Alabama, passed away August 17, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. W.L. and Bertha Revell; sister, Donna Revell Paramore and brother in law Billie Joe Paramore. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Whitehead Revell; children, Melanie Revell Kendrick (Jonathan) and son, Chris Revell (Kerry); grandchildren, Reed Kendrick and Molly Kendrick; sister Linda Revell Poitras (Jim) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Billy and his wife Pat have been married for 57 years. He graduated from Opp High School in 1966 and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s degree in Education. He also earned a 6th year level Certificate in Education Administration. Billy was a teacher at Florala High School and also served as Assistant Principal there. He went on to become Principal at Florala City Middle School and Straughn Elementary School. Billy retired after working 32 years in public education.
Billy enjoyed creating beautiful flower beds and working in his yard. He also loved to watch the Atlanta Braves and the Alabama Crimson Tide Football games. He enjoyed singing, listening to gospel music, and playing the guitar. Billy loved his church and throughout his life served in various areas including youth minister, musician, worship leader, bible teacher, mission’s director, choir member and soloist. But what he loved to do most was spend time with his family and attend activities that involved his two grandchildren.
A Celebration of Billy's life will be Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM at First Pentecostal Church, Prattville, Alabama with a visitation from 12:00 - 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to be made to the Missions Fund at First Pentecostal Church, Prattville, Alabama.
